ABOUT
Laura Burke is Blair County's Democratic County Commissioner.
Elected in 2019, Laura took office on January 6, 2020. She is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Commissioners and serves as liaison to the Court-related offices, District Attorney, Public Defender, Children, Youth, & Families, Tax Claim, Tax Assessment, and GIS offices. Laura holds a B.A. from the University of Richmond, a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, and a Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Villanova University. She is an alumna of the Blair County Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Blair County program and a graduate of the County Commissioner Association of Pennsylvania's Center for Excellence in County Leadership (CEL) program. As a part of her duties as County Commissioner, Laura serves on the Boards of the United Way of Blair County and Blair Senior Services. She is a member of the Healthy Blair County Coalition steering committee and DCED's Community Development & Housing Advisory Board.

Create a county-wide entity to oversee the development of our outdoor recreation resources.
MENTAL & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
Work with stakeholders to create diversionary programs to keep individuals with mental health and substance use disorders out of the criminal justice system.
